Tourists coming to Vladivostok always visit the Soviet submarine S-56 museum. Yes, you will be able to go inside the real Second World War submarine that was operable in the past, know its history and feel the atmosphere because many compartments of it have been saved in their original form. In 1944 S-56 was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner.
After that you will walk to the Nickolas Triumphal Arch situated nearby. This is a really remarkable place because it was constructed to welcome the crown prince of the Russian Empire during his visit to Vladivostok on the occasion of opening the world famous Trans-Siberian Railway. It was demolished in the Soviet times and reconstructed in 1998 with the help of old photos. The renewed Arch was officially opened in 2003.
Just some meters from the Arch the Chapel of St. Andrew is located. It is a nice small snow-white temple. It was built on the threshold of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War in honor of the died soldiers.
